This interim policy describes browser storage used by Cominent.

Essential technologies
Cominent uses strictly necessary cookies or similar browser storage for authentication, session security, navigation, preferences, and abuse prevention. Disabling these technologies may prevent the service from working.

Current categories
- Authentication and session storage: keeps an authorized user signed in and supports secure logout and session revocation.
- Security storage: supports OAuth state, request integrity, abuse prevention, and protection against replay or unauthorized access.
- Preference storage: remembers interface settings that a user or organization chooses.
- Operational diagnostics: helps identify errors and maintain reliable service without creating advertising profiles.

Current first-party inventory
Names, domains, and durations must be verified against the deployed production inventory whenever authentication or analytics configuration changes.
- cominent_session — strictly necessary, HTTP-only authentication session; currently designed to expire after approximately eight hours and may be revoked earlier.
- Cookie consent preference — stores the user’s cookie-notice choice in the browser; duration depends on the implemented consent component.
- Interface preferences — may retain non-sensitive display choices locally; these are not used for advertising.

Duration
Some technologies last only for the current browser session. Others may remain for a limited period to preserve security or preferences. Server-side authentication sessions may expire or be revoked independently of browser storage. Exact names and durations will be added when the production cookie inventory is finalized.

Analytics and marketing
The current private-pilot experience is not intended to use non-essential advertising cookies. If optional analytics or marketing technologies are introduced, this policy and any required consent controls will be updated before use.

Third-party integrations
Signing in or connecting an external platform may direct you to that provider, which may set its own cookies under its own policy. Cominent does not control browser storage placed directly by Microsoft, Google, or another connected provider.

Managing cookies
You can remove or block cookies through browser settings. Essential session cookies are required to sign in and securely use a workspace.

Changes to this policy
This policy will be updated if cookie categories, providers, purposes, or retention periods materially change. Where required, Cominent will request consent before activating non-essential technologies.
